Comparing Villains and Victims from The Speckled Band, wriggle Lip and The Cardboard BoxThe three villains which I am going to oppose / contrast are DrRoylott from The Speckled Band, Mr Neville St Claire from The Man WithThe Twisted Lip and Sarah Cushing from The Cardboard Box.The three victims I am going to compare / contrast are Helen stonerfrom The Speckled Band, Mrs St Claire from The Man With The TwistedLip and Susan Cushing from The Cardboard box.Dr Roylott is a stereotype villain. He is feared by his neighbours andis very violent and threatening. He is described as existence a man ofimmense strength, and absolutely uncontrollable anger. I can say thisbecause he beat his native butler to death. He tear down abuses Helenphysically and covered over her injured wrist. This is when Holmesobserves her.Helen finally falls in love with Percy Armitage who asks for her handin marriage but Dr Roylott offers no position to the match. Thisshows his egotistical personality, he only ca res for himself and not hisstepdaughters happiness.He hangs about with criminal gypsies but he is in fact worse than thegypsies. He has a baboon and cheetah which love freely over hisgrounds This shows his weird, strange hard character. He is alikequite a bully because Helen says, for a long time we did all the body of workof the house They had to do this because all the servants were afraidof being employed by him No servants would stay with us. He is suchan evil character because he even kills his stepdaughter Julia just sohe gets to keep her money and he also intended on killing his otherstepdaughter Helen.The villain from The Man With The Twisted Lip, Mr Neville St Claire isa different type of... ...y are victims they havemost characteristics in common for example Helen is made to be alonely person and so is Susan Cushing because Susan looses her sisterwho was described as being an angel and is left with the sister whoshe does not get along with, Sarah a devil. Mrs Neville S t Claire isalso made to pop out as if she is lonely because her husband goes anddoes not come back for a whole week What a week she must have spentthis also shows that she could have been suffering. Helen and MrsNeville St Claire end up having everything work out the best becauseHelen goes and gets married and claims the will her mother left herand Mrs Neville St Claire gets her husband back but Susan is juststuck as being a retired old lady with an evil sister, She does nothave anything better going for her. This makes me feel moderatelysympathetic towards her.
